Color and pattern of the male

Head: warm-orange.

Neck: hackle from top to bottom changing from light-orange to golden-yellow; each feather with a black shaft-stripe, runs parallel to the outline, ends in a point near the tip, no high demands on the sharpness and the intensity; front of the neck black.

Back, shoulders and wing-arch: warm-orange.

Saddle-hackle: from light-orange to golden-yellow; each feather with a more or less distinct black shaft-stripe, absence is not considered a fault.

Tail: steering-feathers black; sickles and coverts green-glossy black.

Wings: bow black, wing-bar green-glossy black.

Primary-flights: black with a narrow light-brown edge along the outer-vane.

Secondary-flights: inner-vane black, outer-vane cream, transitioning to light-brown towards the tip, forming when the wing is closed a almost entirely cream wing-triangle with a visible light-brown lace on the upper-side.

Breast: green-glossy black.

Belly, thighs and rear-part: black.

Down: greyish.

Serious faults

Too light or too dark neck-hackle. White in tail and wing-flights. Much brown in the breast, thighs and belly.

Minor deviations in color and pattern. Too light or too dark color. Silvery-white wing-triangle.

Color and pattern of the female

Head: yellow.

Neck: hackle yellow, each feather with a black shaft-stripe, runs parallel to the outline, ends in a point near the tip, no high demands on the sharpness and the intensity; front of the neck similar to the breast.

Back, shoulders, bow, wing-coverts and saddle: each feather grayish-yellow with fine evenly distributed greyish-black peppering; slightly light lacing permitted but not desired.

Primary-flights: blackish-grey with a narrow greyish-yellow outer-vane.

Secondary-flights: outer-vane similar to the back; inner-vane blackish-grey.

Tail: black steering-feathers except for the upper ones, which like the coverts are greyish-yellow with fine dark-grey peppering.

Breast: salmon-orange transitioning to yellowish-grey at the thighs, veins salmon-orange.

Belly, thighs and rear-part: yellowish-gray.

Down: greyish.

Serious faults

Too light or too dark neck-hackle. Too rusty red on the shoulders. Too pale breast. Absence of shaft-stripes. Light veins on the neck-hackle and shoulders. Too coarse or clumped peppering.
