Black mottled
Note
As the chickens with the mottled color varieties age, the amount of white in the pattern will increase. Two-year-old chickens generally have the best pattern distribution.
Color and pattern male and female
The entire plumage should be as evenly green-glossy black as possible with a sharply defined white mottle. The pattern should be as regular as possible. The tail steering-feathers and wing-flights, and in the male also the sickles, with a small white mottle. The mottle is located at the tip of the feather symmetrically in relation to the vein. The mottle varies from slightly crescent-shaped to diamond-shaped. Black should predominate.
Down: dark grey.
Serious faults
Strong deviation in the pattern due to the presence of too much white or too much black in the plumage. Strong irregularly distributed pattern. Much red in the plumage.
Faults
Slightly color and pattern deviation. Too much white in the head-plumage. Almost completey white steering-feathers or wing-flights. Slightly irregularly distributed pattern.
