Color and pattern male

Head: warm golden-buff.

Neck, back, shoulders, wing-bows and saddle-hackle: deep warm golden-buff, each feather ending in an elongated sharply pointed white spangle, proportional in size to the feather.

Tail: feathers golden-buff ending with a defined spangle, feathers white mixed with golden-buff permitted; smaller tail-coverts warm golden-buff with an elongated spangle.

Wing-bars: deep golden-buff, each feather ending in a large, almost round, white spangle, resulting in two distinct bars across the wing.

Primary flights: inner-web warm golden-buff interspersed with white; outer-web warm golden-buff.

Secondary-flights: inner-web white; outer-web warm golden-buff fading to white at the feather tips.

Breast and belly: warm golden-buff, each feather ending in a large, almost round, white spangle.

Thighs: similar to the breast, but the feathering is predominant white below.

Fluff: white with golden yellow tinge.

Down: white.

Head: warm golden-buff, with white markings.

Neck: hackle warm golden-buff, each feather ending in a elongated white spangle; front of the neck similar to the breast.

Back, shoulders, smaller wing-coverts, saddle, breast and belly: warm golden-buff each feather ending in a large, almost round, white spangle; spangle, proportional in size to the feather.

Tail: feathers golden-buff with white spangles, feathers white mixed with golden-buff permitted; smaller tail-coverts deep golden-bay with slightly elongated white spangles.

Wing-bars: coverts warm golden-buff, each feather ending in a large, almost round, white spangle, resulting in two distinct bars across the wing.

Primary-flights: inner-web warm golden-buff interspersed with white; outer-web warm golden-buff.

Secondary-flights: inner-web white; outer-web warm golden-buff, fading to white at the tip.

Thighs: similar to the belly, but the feathering below predominant white.

Fluff: white with golden-buff tinge.

Down: white.

Serious faults male and female

Too light, too dark or complete uneven ground color. Spangles that are too heavy, too small or horseshoe-shaped. Absence or near absence of the spangles in the neck- and saddle-hackle at the male. Absence of distinct bands across the wings at the female.
