Head and neck: black, some brown in the hackle is permitted.

Back and shoulders: black with brass mixing.

Saddle-hackle: black with a blurred brass feather-edge.

Tail: black, some white at the base of the main-sickles is permitted.

Primary-flights: black.

Secondary-flights: black, some blurry brass marking in the outer-vane is permitted.

Breast: green-glossy black

Belly, thighs and rear-part: black

Down: grey

Serious faults

Clearly visible shaft-stripe pattern on the head and neck. Marking in the primary-flights. Extensive marking in the outer-vane of the secondary-flights.

Faults

Serious faults occur to a lesser extent. Too yellow or too light ground-color on the back and shoulders. Excessive white in the tail.

Color and pattern female

Head and neck: black, some brown in the hackle is permitted; front of the neck similar to the breast.

Back, wing-coverts and saddle: black with a brass vein and a creamy to blurred brownish feather-edge is permitted.

Tail: black.

Primary-flights: black.

Secondary-flights: preferably entirely black but may show some brown blurred marking or a brownish-black haze on the outer-edge.

Breast: cream to light brown in the center; towards the outside mixed with some black; veins are lighter tinted and clearly distinguishable.

Belly, thighs and rear-part: cream to light brown with some black mixing.

Down: grey

Serious faults

Clearly visible shaft-stripe pattern on the head and neck. Extensive marking in the secondary-flights. Marking in the primary-flights. Blurred feather-edging on back, saddle and wing-coverts.
