Lemon black-spangled

Color and pattern male

Head: lemon-yellow.

Neck, back, shoulders, wing-bows and saddle-hackle: lemon-yellow, each feather ending in an elongated sharply pointed glossy green-black spangle, proportional in size to the feather.

Tail: feathers lemon-yellow with slightly elongated black spangles, feathers black mixed with lemon-yellow permitted.

Wings-bars: lemon-yellow, each feather ending in a large, almost round, glossy green-black spangle, resulting in two distinct bars across the wing.

Primary-flights: inner-web lemon-yellow with black intermingled; outer-web lemon-yellow.

Secondary-flights: inner-web black; outer-web lemon-yellow, fading to black at the feather-tip.

Breast and belly: lemon-yellow, each feather ending in a large, almost round, glossy green-black spangle.

Thighs: similar to the belly, but the feathering is predominant black below.

Fluff: dark blue-grey with brown tinge.

Down: blue-grey

Serious faults

Too dark, too light or irregular ground-color. Too red on shoulders. Spangles that are too heavy, too small, or horseshoe-shaped. Absence or near absence of spangling on the hackles.

Neck: lemon-yellow, each feather ending in a elongated, glossy green-black spangle; front of the neck similar to the breast.

Back, shoulders, smaller wing-coverts, saddle, breast and belly: lemon-yellow, each feather ending in a large, almost round, glossy green-black spangle, proportional in size to the feather.

Tail: feathers lemon-yellow with black spangles, feathers black mixed with lemon-yellow permitted; smaller tail-coverts lemon-yellow with slightly elongated black spangles.

Wing-bars: lemon yellow, each feather ending in a large, almost round, glossy green-black spangle, resulting in two distinct bars across the wing.

Primary-flights: inner-web lemon-yellow interspersed with black; outer-web lemon-yellow.

Secondary-flights: inner-web black; outer-web lemon-yellow, fading to black at the feather-tip.

Thighs: similar to the brest, but the feathering below is predominant black.

FLuff: dark blue-grey with black tinge.

Down: blue-grey.

Too dark or uneven ground color. Spangles that are too heavy, too small or horseshoe-shaped. Lack of distinct bands across the wings.
