Color and pattern of the male

Head: orange-red.

Neck: hackle from top to bottom changing from chestnut-red to orange or from orange to orange-yellow; each feather with a white shaft-stripe, runs parallel to the outline, ends in a point near the tip; front of the neck white.

Back, shoulders and wing-bows: carmine-red.

Saddle-hackle: chestnut-red to orange or orange to light-orange; each feather with a more or less distinct white shaft-stripe, absence is not considered a fault; a slightly deeper tint than in the neck-hackle is permitted, equality is desired.

Tail: white.

Wings: front and wing-bar white.

Primary-flights: white with a narrow brown edge along the outer-web.

Secondary-flights: inner-web white, outer-web reddish-brown, forming a red-brown wing-bay when the wing is closed.

Breast, thighs, belly and fluff: white.

Down: white.

Serious faults

Breast and tail other than white. Insufficient color-depth in the colored feather-parts.

Partial absence of the reddish-brown wing-bay.

Color and pattern of the female

Head: golden-yellow.

Neck: hackle lemon-yellow, each feather with a broad creamy-white shaft-stripe, runs parallel to the outline, ends in a point near the tip; front of the neck similar to the breast.

Back, shoulders, wing-coverts and saddle: each feather creamy-white, peppering is not visible in this color variety; some brown tinge is permitted as long as it does not detract from the overall appearance.

Tail and wing-flights: creamy-white

Breast: salmon-reddish brown.

Thighs, belly and fluff: creamy-white.

Down: white.
