Color and pattern

Head and upper-neck male: gold interspersed with black; an almost entire gold-colored head and upper neck with only a few black feathers is permitted.

Head and upper-neck female: black, the feathers of the neck-hackle transition to gold slightly below the head.

Beard: black.

Remaining plumage: complete gold, no stringent requirements are placed on the ground-color.

Down: light blue-grey.

Serious faults

Too much gold in the beard, excessive black splashes on the back, breast, shoulders and tail.
