Color and pattern male 

Head and upper neck: gold interspersed with black; an almost entirely gold-colored head and upper neck with only a few black feathers is permitted.

Beard: black.

Remaining plumage: completely gold. 

Color intensity: no stringent requirements are placed on the gold ground color.

Down: light blue-gray.

Note

In moorkop males, a somewhat sparse decorative plumage is permitted.

Color and pattern female 

Head, beard, and upper neck: black; the feathers of the neck-hackle transition to gold slightly below the head.

Remaining plumage: completely gold.

Color intensity: no stringent requirements are placed on the gold ground color.

Down: light blue-gray.

Serious faults in male and female

Too much gold in the beard, excessive color splashes on the back, breast, shoulders and tail.
