Color and pattern male
Head: lemon-yellow.
Neck: hackle glossy vivid lemon-yellow; front of the neck similar to the breast.
Back, shoulders, wing-bows, saddle-hackle and breast: glossy warm lemon-yellow.
Wing-bars: lemon-yellow, inner-web faintly black transverse pencilled.
Primary-flights: inner-web black, outer-web lemon-yellow.
Secondary-flights: inner-web lemon-yellow black transverse pencilled, outer-web lemon-yellow except the tip where the pencilling continues.
Tail: main-feathers black; sickles and coverts green-glossy black with a narrow sharply defined lemon-yellow lacing.
Breast,flanks, thighs and belly: warm lemon-yellow, flanks show some black pencilling.
Fluff: blackish-grey with brown tinge.
Down: light blue-grey.
Note
Hen-feathered males correspond entirely in color and pattern females.
Serious faults
Uneven or too dark ground-color. Too red on the shoulders and wing-bows. Too broad or very irregular lacing of sickles or tail-coverts. Absence of sickle-lacing.

Head: warm lemon-yellow.
Neck: hackle warm lemon-yellow, some penciling allowed at base of the hackle; front of the neck similar to the breast, but slightly less strongly pencilled .
Back: warm lemon-yellow, each feather with green-glossy black fine straight tranverse pencilling, slightly wider than those of lemon-yellow.
Shoulders, wing-coverts and saddle: warm lemon-yellow, each feather with green-glossy black fine straight tranverse pencilling, approximately as wide as those of lemon-yellow.
Wing-flights: warm lemon-yellow with straight green-glossy black tranverse pencilling, slightly wider than as those of lemon-yellow.
Tail: main-feathers and coverts warm lemon-yellow, each feather with green-glossy black fairly finely and straight transverse pencilling, slightly wider than as those of lemon-yellow.
Breast, flanks and thighs: similar to the shoulders, pencilling on the breast should retain as much as possible towards the top and not fade out too strongly.
Belly and fluff: warm lemon-yellow with black pencilling or peppering.
Down: blue-grey.
Serious faults
Uneven or too dark ground-color. Coarse or very irregular pencilling. Insufficient colour depth and sharpness of the pencilling. Insufficient pencilling on the breast. Pencilling extending too high into the neck-hackle.
Faults
Serious faults to a lesser degree. Ground-color in the pencilling.
