Blue copper-neck

Color and pattern male

Head: copper.

Neck- and saddlehackle: copper, each feather with a distinct blue shaft-stripe that may not extend to the tip.

Back: copper.

Shoulders and wing-bow: red mahogany.

Other plumage: bright blue, as evenly as possible; feathers on front of the neck may show copper lacing extending to the underside of the neck feathers. Especially on the breast and wing-bar the feathers often show a fine, slightly darker edge (optical lacing).

Down: pale blue-gray

Note

The copper areas are a shade less warm than in black copperneck.

Faults

Insufficient or excessive shaft-stripes. Too pale or too red ornamental feathering. Breast lacing. Rusty, uneven or too dark blue ground-color.
