Color and pattern of the male

Head: creamy-white.

Neck- and saddle-hackle: creamy-white to straw-yellow with some black shaft-stripes in the lower half.

Front of neck, beard, breast, body, belly and thighs: deep black.

Back, shoulders and shoulder arch: almost silvery-white with some light-red tinge.

Tail and sickles: black; upper steering- feathers black, partially edged with white.

Wing-bar: black, moderate glossy greenish or bluish.

Primary-flights: black with a narrow white edge on the outer-vane.

Secondary-flights: inner-vane black, outer-vane white, forming a white wing-triangle when the wing is closed.

Belly: black to grayish-black.

Leg- and outer-toe feathering: black to grayish.

Down: white to light blue-gray.

Serious faults

Extensive white on the beard, breast, belly, thighs and foot-feathers. Little pattern on the secondary-flights.

Color and pattern of the female

Head and neck-hackle: soft salmon-pink, each feather of the hackle with a creamy-white lacing and shaft. Some grayish-black feather-tips are present at the bottom of the hackle.

Front of the neck and beard: creamy white.

Back, shoulders and saddle: salmon-colored, each feather with a creamy-white lacing and shaft. 

Tail: coverts similar to those of the back. Upper steering-feathers salmon-colored on both sides faintly speckled with grayish-black; other tail-feathers dull gray-black with a salmon-colored edge.

Wings: coverts similar to the back.

Primary-flights: outer-vane soft salmon, inner-vane interspersed with gray-black.

Secondary-flights: outer-vane soft salmon, inner-vane gray-black.

Breast, thighs, belly, flanks, rear-part and leg- and outer- toe feathers: creamy-white.

Down: white to light blue-gray.

Serious faults

Uneven salmon color. Rust. Complete lack of pattern on the shoulders.
