Color and pattern male

Head and neck-hackle: lemon-yellow.

Back, shoulders and wing-bow: orange-red.

Saddle: hackle lemon-yellow, a slightly deeper shade than in the neck-hackle is permitted, but uniformity is desired.

Tail: main-feathers black; sickles and coverts glossy green-black.

Wings: front black; wing-bar green-glossy black.

Primary-flights: black with a narrow lemon-yellow lace along the outer-web.

Secondary-flights: inner-web black, outer-web lemon- yellow, forming a lemon-yellow wing-bay when the wing is closed.

Breast: glossy green-black.

Thighs, belly and fluff: black.

Down: creamy.

Serious faults

Absence of the wing-bay. White in tail and wing-flights.

Faults

Slightly too light or slightly too dark hackles. Slightly too light back, shoulders and wing-bow. Incomplete colored wing-bay.

Color and pattern of the female

Head and neck-hackle: lemon-yellow, hackle with negligible shaft-stripes.

Back, breast, front of the neck and wings: light lemon-yellow.

Tail: upper main-feathers on both sides light-wheaten, faintly speckled with black; other feathers dull black or black with a narrow wheaten edge.

Wing-flights: outer-web light-wheaten, inner-web wheaten with brownish-black spots.

Thighs, belly and fluff: light creamy yellow-wheaten.

Down: creamy.

Serious faults

Significant uneven upper-color.

Faults

Somewhat uneven or slightly too dark or slightly too light ground-color. Clear visible hackle-stripes. Light hackle-color.
