Blue-goldpartridge

Color and pattern of the male

Head: light orange-red.

Neck: hackle gradually transitions from orange to orange-yellow from top to bottom; each feather has a bright-blue shaft stripe, no stringent requirements are placed on the sharpness of the pattern and the intensity of the shaft-stripe, as far as present it ends in a point near the tip; front of the neck bright-blue.

Shoulders and back: light carmine red.

Saddle: hackle orange to ligh-orange with more or less distinct blue shaft-stripe pattern, absence of pattern is not considered a fault; a slightly deeper shade in the saddle-hackle than in the neck-hackle is permitted.

Tail: steering-feathers, sickles, by-sickles, and coverts bright-blue.

Wings: bow and wing-bar bright-blue.

Primary-flights: bright-blue with a narrow brown edge along the outer-vane.

Secondary-flights: inner-vane bright-blue, outer-vane brown, forming a brown wing-triangle when the wing is closed.

Breast: bright-blue.

Belly, thighs and rerar-part: bright-blue.

Down: greyish.

Serious faults

White in sickles, tail and wing-flights. Much brown in the breast, belly and thighs. Straw-yellow in the lower part of the hackles. Rusty blue. Much too dark-blue.

Faults

Some unevenness and slightly too dark in the sickles and tail-feathers. Other minor deviations in color and pattern. Incompletely colored wing-triangle. Complete absence of the shaft stripe pattern.

Color and pattern of the female

Head: golden yellow.

Neck: hackle golden yellow; each feather has a bright blue shaft stripe; the sharpness of the pattern and the intensity of the shaft stripe are not high demands; the shaft stripe runs parallel to the feather edge and ends in a point near the tip of the feather; the front of the neck is salmon-brown.

Shoulders: golden gray-brown with fine, evenly distributed bright blue peppering, with as little light-colored veining as possible.

Back and saddle-cushion: similar to the shoulders.

Tail: steering-feathers bright blue except for the upper feathers, which, like the tail- coverts, are golden brown with small bright blue speckles.

Wings: bow, wing-bar, and coverts similar to the shoulders.

Primary-flights: bright blue-brown with a narrow grayish-brown outer-vane.

Secondary-flights: outer-vane, similar to the shoulders; inner-vane bright blue-brown.

Note

A slightly light edging of the back and wing-coverts is permissible but not desirable.

Serious faults

Red or rusty on wings. Brown sheen on back, saddle-cushion and wing-coverts. Light veins. Yellowish tint in the neck-hackle. Complete absence of the shaft stripe pattern.

Faults

The above serious faults occur to a lesser extent. Slightly clumped peppering and light veins on the breast.
