Plumage: golden-brown ground- color, each feather, including neck-, wing- and tail-feathers, having a narrow, glossy black lacing, of equal width throughout, extending completely around the feather and visible at the front and back of the feather.
Down: blue-gray.

Too dark, too light, or irregular ground-color. Light shafts, broad or insufficiently deep-black lacing. Double lacing. Horseshoe-shaped lacing. Insufficient lacing of the feathers on the breast and front of the neck. Unlaced throat. Black peppering on the tail.
