Color and pattern male
Head: buff.
Neck: each hackle-feather provided with a medium-width, green-glossy black shaft-stripe, surrounded by a narrow, buff lacing running around the tip; front of the neck buff.
Back and saddle-hackle: buffe; between the shoulders under the neck-hackle black and buff.
Tail: steering-feathers black; support feathers black with buff lacing; sickles and coverts glossy green black; small- coverts green-glossy black with narrow buff lacing.
Wings: bow buff, may be partially black; shoulder-arch and wing-bar buff.
Primary-flights: black with a buff lace on the outer-side of the outer-vane.
Secondary-flights: inner-vane black with a buff lace running around the tip; outer-vane buff so that when the wing is closed it is entirely buff.
Breast, belly, thighs and rear-part: buff.
Down: buff, light grey permitted.
Serious faults
Insufficient pattern in the neck-hackle. Buff in the sickles. Pattern in the saddle-hackle. Strong presence of black in areas that should be buff such wing-coverts, sides of the breast and flanks. Broken shaft-stripe pattern. Feather-groups varying in colour depth.
Faults
The above serious faults occur to a lesser extent. Insufficient pattern in tail-support feathers and wing-flights.

Back: white, between the shoulders below the neck-hackle black and buff.
Tail: steering-feathers black, except for the top two which are faintly laced with buff; coverts black with a narrow buff lacing.
Wings: bow and coverts buff.
