Color and pattern male
Head: orange-red.
Neck: warm orange-golden yellow, each feather with a shiny, green-black shaft stripe, running almost parallel to the feather edge; the shaft stripe ends close to the end of the feather in a point; shaft black; feathers at the front of the neck black.
Shoulders: carmine-red.
Back and saddle: back carminered; saddle hackle warm orange-golden yellow, each feather with shaft stripe as in the neck hackle; a slightly deeper shade in the saddle hackle than in the neck hackle is permitted, but as much equality in color depth as possible in both feather groups is desired; shaft black.
Tail: steering-feathers black, sickles, by-sickles and coverts green-glossy black; small-coverts green-glossy black, edged with warm orange-golden yellow.
Wings: bow black; wing-bar green-glossy black, forming a transverse band when the wing is closed.
Primary-flights: black with deep red-brown edge along the outside of the outer-vane.
Secondary-flights: black with deep red-brown border along the outer-vane, so that a red-brown wing-triangle is formed; the feather ends in greenish black.
Breast: green-glossy black; some brown permitted.
Belly, lower thighs and rear-part: black, some brown permitted in thighs.
Down: greyish.
Serious faults
White in sickles. Tail and wing feathers considerably too red-brown or grey-yellow ground color. Too dark color in neck and saddle feathers or too faint shaft stripe markings.
Faults
The above faults occur to a lesser extent, also too light and incompletely colored wing-triangle.
Color and pattern female
Head: deep yellow-brownish orange.
Neck: hackle orange-yellow, starting approximately at the transition of head and neck, each feather provided with a broad greenish glossy black shaft stripe (slightly laced with orange-brown), running parallel to the feather edge and ending in a point close to the feather end. Front of the neck similar to the breast.
Back: warm greyish yellow-brown, sharpley black multiple laced, parallel to each other and to the feather outline.
Tail: steering-feathers black, the two upper feathers black with warm grey-brown pattern; coverts and saddle cushion feathers warm greyish yellow-brown and similar to the back feathers.
Wing-coverts: warm greyish brown-yellow, similar to the back feathers.
Primary-flights: with a brown edge on the outer-vane.
Secondary-flights: inner-vane black, outer-vane brown with black lacing stripes running approximately parallel to the feather outline.
Breast: warm, greyish yellow-brown and patterned similar to the the back; pattern on the breast continues to the throat.
Belly and lower thighs: soft greyish yellow-brown with black multiple lacing.
Rear-part: soft grey-brown.
Down: greyish.
Serious faults
Too weak or incorrect pattern on the breast, wing-coverts and back. Rust colour on wings. Peppered pattern instead of clear pattern.
