Color and pattern male

Head: orange-red.

Neck: hackle warm orangey golden-yellow, each feather with a green-glossy black shaft-stripe, running almost parallel to the edge, ends in a point near the tip; vein black; front of the neck black.

Back and saddle-hackle: back carmine-red; hackle warm orangey golden-yellow, each feather similar to the neck-hackle; a slightly deeper shade in than in the neck-hackle is permitted, as much equality as possible is desired; vein black.

Tail: steering-feathers black, sickles, by-sickles and coverts green-glossy black, smaller-coverts oangey golden-yellow laced.

Wings: bow black; shoulder-arch carmine-red, greater-coverts green-glossy black forming a transverse wing-bar when the wing is closed. 

Primary-flights: black with a deep red-brown narrow lace along the outside of the outer-vane.

Secondary-flights: black with a deep red-brown lace along the outer-vane, forming a red-brown wing-triangle when the wing is closed, feather ends green-glossy black.

Breast: green-glossy black, some brown lacing permitted.

Belly, thighs and rear-part: black, some brown lacing permitted in thighs.

Down: greyish.

Serious faults

White in tail and wing-flights. Considerably too red-brown or grey-yellow ground-color. Too dark in neck- and saddle-hackle or too faint shaft-stripe pattern. 

Faults

The above faults occur to a lesser extent. Too light and incomplete colored wing-triangle.

 

Color and pattern female

Head: deep yellow-brownish orange.
Neck: hackle orangey-yellow, starting approximately at the transition of head and neck, each feather with a broad green-glossy black shaft-stripe (slightly laced with orange-brown), running parallel to the edge and ends in a point near the tip. Front of the neck similar to the breast.

Back: warm greyish yellow-brown, sharpley black multiple laced, parallel to each other and to the feather outline.

Tail: steering-feathers black, both upper feathers black with warm grey-brown pattern; coverts and saddle-cushion similar to the back.

Wing-coverts: similar to the back.

Primary-flights: black with a brown narrow lace on the outer-vane.

Secondary-flights: inner-vane black, outer-vane brown with black multiple lacing running approximately parallel to the feather-outline.

Breast: similar to the back; pattern continues to the throat.

Belly and  thighs: soft greyish yellow-brown with black multiple lacing.

Rear-part: soft grey-brown.

Down: greyish.

Serious faults

Too weak or incorrect pattern on the back, breast and wing-coverts. Rust color on wings. Peppered pattern instead of clear pattern.

Faults

The above faults occur to a lesser extent.
