Color and pattern male
Head: deep-red.
Neck:: each feather of the hackle has a medium-wide, glossy green black shaft stripe, surrounded by a narrow, deep-red lace that runs around the tip of the feather; front of the neck deep-red.
Back and saddle feathers: upper plumage deep-red, between the shoulders below the neck-hackle black and deep red; saddle-hackle deep-red.
Tail: steering-feathers black; support feathers black with deep-red border; sickles and coverts glossy green black; small-coverts glossy green black with narrow deep-red lacing.
Wings: bow deep-red, may be partly black; shoulder arch and wing-bar deep-red.
Primary-flights: black with deep-red lace on the outside of the outer-vane.
Secondary-flights: inner-vane black with a deep-red lace that extends around the feather tip; outer-vane deep-red, so that when the wing is closed, it is entirely deep-red.
Breast, belly, body and thighs: deep-red.
Down: red or blue-gray, preferably the latter.
Serious faults
Insufficient pattern in the neck-hackle. Red in the sickles. Pattern in the saddle-hackle; strong presence of black in the parts that should be deep-red on the surface, such as on the wing-coverts, breast, body and thighs. Broken shaft stripe markings. Deviations in color depth in different feather groups.
Faults
The above serious faults occurring to a lesser extent. Insufficient pattern in the tail support- feathers and the flight feathers.

Tail: steering-feathers black, except for the top two feathers, which are faintly deep-red laced; coverts black with narrow deep-red lace.
