Color and pattern male

Head: warm golden-brown; each feather has a black shaft stripe pattern, ending in a sharp point near the feather end.

Neck: hackle warm golden-brown, each feather with a strong green-glossy black shaft stripe, running almost parallel to the feather edge, the shaft stripe ends in a point close to the end of the feather; vein golden-brown; front of the neck similar to the breast.

Back: golden-brown.

Saddle: hackle golden-brown with a black shaft stripe pattern in each feather; the black shaft stripe pattern has an elongated golden-brown centre.

Tail: steering-feathers black; sickles and coverts glossy-green black; smaller-coverts, where they connect to the saddle-hackle, similar to the neck-hackle but with a broader golden-brown centre.

Wings: bow feathers golden-brown with black lacing; shoulder-arch golden-brown as a result of the broad golden-brown lacing on each feather; each feather of the greater-coverts golden-brown with a narrow, sharply defined, glossy-green black lacing, forming a wing-bar across the wing.

Primary-flights: black with a narrow golden-brown lace on the outer-vane.

Secondary-flights: outer-vane black at the base half, the other half, those at the feather end, golden-brown with a black lace, which becomes broader at the feather tip; inner-vane black with a narrow golden-brown lace.

Breast, belly and thighs: each feather warm golden-brown with a narrow, sharply defined, glossy-green black lacing.

Rear-part: greyish brown.

Down: blue-grey, becoming lighter towards the base.

Serious faults

Uneven ground-color or in shade deviating from warm golden-brown. Light shafts. Much too wide lacing. Golden-brown narrow lace around the black lacing. Breaking through of the shaft stripe pattern at the tip of the neck- and saddle-hackle feathers. Poorly defined and interrupted lacing. Very irregular lacing. Much brown in the sickles and by-sickles. Completely black feathers on body and thighs. White in wing-flights and tail steering-feathers.

Faults

The above serious faults are present to a lesser extent.
