Goldpartridge
Color and pattern male
Head: orange-red.
Neck: hackle gradually transitions from orange to orange-yellow from top to bottom; each feather has a black shaft-stripe, no stringent requirements are placed on the sharpness of the pattern and the intensity of the shaft-stripe, as far as present it ends in a point near the tip; front of the neck black.
Shoulders and back: carmine-red.
Saddle-hackle: orange to light-orange, with more or less distinct shaft-stripe pattern; the absence of hackle-pattern is not considered a fault; a slightly deeper shade in the saddle-hackle than in the neck-hackle is permitted, but the greatest possible similarity in color depth in both feather groups is desirable.
Tail: steering-feathers black; sickles, by-sickles and coverts green-glossy black.
Wings: black bow; green-glossy black wing-bar.
Primary-flights: black with a narrow brown edge along the outer-vane.
Secondary-flights: black inner-vane, outer-vane brown, forming a brown wing-triangle when the wing is closed.
Breast: green-glossy black.
Belly, thighs and rear-part: black.
Down: greyish.
Serious faults
White in sickles, tail and wing-flights. Much brown in the breast, belly and thighs. Straw-yellow in the lower part of the hackle.
Faults
Other, minor deviations in color and pattern. Incompletely colored wing-triangle.
Color and pattern female
Head: golden-yellow.
Neck: hackle golden-yellow, each feather with a black shaft-stripe; the sharpness of the pattern and the intensity of the shaft-stripe are not particularly demanding; the shaft-stripe runs parallel to the feather edge and ends in a point near the tip; front of the neck salmon-brown.
Shoulders: golden gray-brown with fine, evenly distributed black peppering, with minimal light-colored veins.
Back and saddle-cushion: similar to the shoulders.
Tail: steering-feathers black except for the upper ones, which, like the coverts, are golden brown with small black speckles.
Wings: bow, wing-bar and coverts similar to the shoulders.
Primary flights: black-brown with a narrow gray-brown outer-vane.
Secondary flights: outer-vane, similar to the shoulders; inner-vane black-brown.
Breast: salmon-reddish brown, veins of the same color, fading to ash-brown at the thighs.
Belly, thighs and rear-part: ash-brown.
Down: greyish.
Note
A slightly light edging of the back and wing-coverts is permissible but not desirable.
Serious faults
Too red (rusty) on shoulders. Too pale breast color. Complete absence of shaft-stripe pattern. Light veins. Excessively coarse or clumped peppering.
Faults
Minor deviations in color and pattern. Slightly clumped peppering and light veins on the breast.
