Back: reddish-brown, each feather with a broader blue lacing.

Down: dark-grey.

Serious Faults

White in tail and wing-flights. Too much red in neck- and saddle-hackle. Lack of pattern in neck- and saddle-hackle, back and shoulder on both the front- and back- side of the feather, outer lacing must be bright-blue. Lack of brown in wing-flights. Blue color much too dark or much too light. Many black color-splashes or too light spots in blue. Rust stains in blue. Too light vein-color.

Faults

Some brown on breast, belly and thighs. Too much blue in neck- and saddle-hackle. Slightly grey in the wing-flights. Too little pattern in hackles, back and wing-coverts. Slightly too light vein-color.

Color and pattern female

Head: bright blue

Neck: hackle-feathers with bright-blue lacing, broad enough to make the hackle bright-blue and a golden-brown center with a broad shaft-stripe towards the body, some brown in the upper part of the hackle is permitted;  front of the neck similar to the breast.

Back, shoulder, saddle, breast, belly, thighs and flanks: feathers dark golden brown with double bright blue lacing, the outer-lace running along the edge is broader than the inner-lace running parallel to it; the large feathers of the saddle and those of the lower breast also have a bright-blue stripe along the vein, which is also bright-blue at that location.

Tail: steering- feathers bright blue except for the upper feather on both sides, which are irregularly patterned with dark golden-brown; coverts double-laced and moreover provided with a blue stripe along the vein, which is also blue at that location.

Wings: coverts similar to the back.

Primary-flights: inner-vane blue, outer-vane dark golden-brown.

Secondary-flights:  inner-vane blue, outer-vane dark golden-brown preferably with a narrow blue lace on the outside, some coarse blue pattern in the golden-brown is permitted.

Down: dark-grey

Note

When judging the double-laced color variety attention must be paid to the color of the dark golden-brown, an even ground-color is highly valued.

The presence of a complete triple lace is not considered a fault in older females.

Serious faults

Excessively heavy, irregular or incomplete outer lacing. Lack of the inner lace. Too light golden-brown, dark reddish-brown or harsh rust-red.  Too much brown in the neck-hackle. Strong peppering in brown. Much too dark or much too light blue. Many black color-splashes or too light spots in blue. Rust stains in blue. Too light vein-color.

Faults

The above serious faults present to a lesser degree.
