Multiple laced chocolate-partridge

Note

Chocolate-color is sensitive  to discoloration when exposed to sunlight. Somewhat lighter color at the tips of the wing-flights and slight color variations in the chocolate-colored and patterned feather-parts are therefore permitted

Color and pattern male

Head: orange-red.

Neck: hackle warm orangey golden-yellow, each feather with a chocolate shaft-stripe, running almost parallel to the edge, ends in a point near the tip; vein chocolate; front of the neck chocolate.

Back and shoulders: carmine-red.

Saddle-hackle: warm orangey golden-yellow, feathers similar to the neck-hackle, a slightly deeper shade is permitted, equality is desired.

Tail: steering-feathers, sickles, by-sickles and coverts chocolate, smaller-coverts warm orange-gold yellow laced; moderate sheen in the tail is desirable.

Wings: bow chocolate ; wing-arch carmine-red, greater-coverts chocolate forming a wing-bar when the wing is closed. 

Primary-flights: chocolate with a deep reddish-brown narrow lace along the outside of the outer-vane.

Secondary-flights: chocolate with a deep reddish-brown lace along the outer-vane, forming a reddish-brown wing-triangle when the wing is closed; feather-end chocolate. 

Breast: chocolate, some lighter lacing permitted.

Belly, thighs and rear-part: chocolate, some lighter lacing permitted in thighs.

Down: brownish-gray.

Serious faults

Considerably too red-brown or grey-yellow ground-color. Too dark in neck- and saddle-hackle or too faint shaft-stripe pattern. Much too dark chocolate-color. White in tail and wing-flights.

Faults

Serious faults to a lesser degree. Irregular and/or patchy chocolate-color. Too light and incomplete colored wing-triangle.

Color and pattern female

Head: deep yellowish-brown orange.

Neckhackle orangey-yellow, each feather with a broadchocolate shaft-stripe (slightly laced with orange-brown), running parallel to the edge, ends in a point near the tip; vein black; front of the neck similar to the breast.

Back, shoulders, saddle-cushion and wing-coverts: each feather warm greyish yellow-brown sharpley chocolate multiple laced, parallel to each other and to the outline.

Tail: steering-feathers chocolate, both upper feathers with warm grayish-brown pattern; coverts similar to the back.

Primary-flights: chocolate with a brownish-gray narrow lace on the outer-vane.

Secondary-flights: inner-vane chocolate, outer-vane brown with chocolate multiple lacing running approximately parallel to the feather-outline.

Breast: similar to the back, lacing extend to the throat.

Belly and  thighs: soft greyish yellow-brown with chocolate multiple lacing.

Rear-part: soft greyish-brown.

Down: greyish.

Serious faults

Too weak or incorrect lacing on the back, shoulders,breast, saddle-cushion and wing-coverts. Rust color on wings. Peppered pattern instead of clear lacing. Much too dark chocolate-color.

Faults

Serious faults to a lesser degree.
