Black mottled

Note

As the chickens with the mottled color varieties age, the amount of white in the pattern will increase. Two-year-old chickens generally have the best pattern distribution.

Color and pattern male and female

The entire plumage should be as evenly black as possible with a sharply defined white pattern.

The pattern should be as regular as possible.

The flights and tail steering-feathers, and in the male also the sickles, are required with a small white end spot, this white pattern is symmetrically placed on the end of the feather in relation to the feather vein.

The white feather ends vary from slightly spangled to diamond-shaped end tips.

Black should predominate.

The black feather-part is green-glossy.

Down: dark grey.

Serious faults males and females

Severe deviation in the pattern due to the presence of too much white or too much black in the plumage. Very irregularly distributed pattern. Much red in the plumage.

Faults males and females

Slightly colour and pattern deviation. Too much white in the head feathering. Almost completely white flight feathers or tail steering-feathers. Slightly irregularly distributed pattern.
