Color and pattern male

Head: buff.

Neck: each feather of the hackle has a medium-wide, bright-blue shaft stripe, surrounded by a narrow, buff lace, which runs around the feather-tip; front of the neck buff.

Back and saddle feathers: upper plumage buff, between the shoulders below the neck-hackle buff and blue; saddle-hackle buff with a black shaft stripe that extends from the tip of the feather no further than halfway down the feather.

Tail: steering-feathers bright-blue; support-feathers bright-blue with buff lacing; sickles and coverts bright-blue; small-coverts bright-blue with narrow buff lacing.

Wings: bow buff, may be partly bright-blue; shoulder arch and wing-bar buff.

Primary-flights: bright-blue with buff lace on the outside of the outer-vane.

Secondary-flights: inner-vane bright-blue with buff lace that runs around the feather tip; outer-vane buff so that when the wing is closed it is completely .

Breast, belly, body and thighs: buff.

Down: light buff or blue-grey, preferably the latter.

Serious faults

Insufficient pattern in the neck-hackle. Buff in the sickles. Strong presence of bright-blue in the parts that should be buff on the surface, such as the wing-coverts,breast, body and thighs. Broken shaft stripe pattern. Deviations in color depth in different feather groups.

Faults

The above serious faults occurring to a lesser extent. Insufficient pattern in the tail support-feathers and the wing-flights. The presence of entirely black or partially black feather areas within the blue and a much too dark or much too light blue color.

Color and pattern female

Head: buff.

Neck: hackle, starting approximately at the transition of neck and head, has a medium-wide, green-glossy black shaft stripe pattern, completely surrounded by a narrow, buff lace; feathers on the front of the neck buff.

Shoulders: buff.

Back: buff, between the shoulders below the neck-hackle black and buff.

Tail: steering-feathers black, except for the top two feathers, which are faintly buff laced; coverts black with narrow buff lace.

Wings: bow and coverts buff.

Primary-flights: black with buff lace on the outside of the outer-vane.

Secondary-flights: inner-vane black with buff lace that runs around the feather tip; outer-vane buff, so that when the wing is closed it is completely buff.

Breast, belly, thighs and rear-part: buff

Down: light buff or blue-grey, preferably the latter.
